INTEGRATION OF DIGITAL LEARNING IN THE UNDERSTANDING OF FILIPINO LITERATURE
Abstract
This study examines the impact of digital learning on students’ comprehension of Filipino literature, focusing on Noli Me Tangere. The researcher implemented a quasiexperimental design with two groups: an Experimental Group that integrated digital learning with traditional instruction, and a Control Group that used traditional teaching alone. Twentyeight ninthgrade students from San Antonio Integrated School participated. Results showed that both groups began with similar knowledge levels, but the Experimental Group achieved greater improvement after the digital intervention. Findings demonstrate that combining visual, auditory, and textual learning modalities deepens interpretation and literacy. The study confirms that integrating digital learning offers an effective strategy for enhancing literary comprehension. To strengthen student engagement, the researcher recommends integrating digital tools into the curriculum, expanding teacher training, and developing localized, contextualized materials that connect learning to students’ experiences.
